With both vertical and horizontal image projection capability, the optical X1000 Microprojector from Ken-a-Vision offers a convenient way to conduct group presentations or discussions of microscopic slides and specimens. A tilting head houses an assembly with a powerful lamp, mechanical stage, and optics. The specimen stage has two clamps for securely holding your slides so you can tilt the head in any orientation for dry specimens. To manage wet slides, keep them in horizontal position with the head down and use the tilting mirror to redirect images to a wall or a screen. To offer your options, the projector has 10x eyepiece tube, 5x auxiliary lens, and three objectives on a rotating nose-piece: 43x, 20x, and 10x. Projecting your images on a screen about 10' away, you will obtain approximately 400x magnification with its 43x objective. The 10x eyepiece can be used to preview the slides in a way as a traditional microscope or to project images when the room lights are low or off. Additionally, the optics also provide a two-piece polarizing analyzer for polarizing microscopy and revolving dustproof disc.
The housing is made of amalloy aluminum and provides upright stability for the projector. The illumination unit contains a 150W quartz iodine lamp and a lamp-cooling system with a fan. To protect your samples from heat generated by the lamp, there is a built-in heat filter. All parts of the head assembly stage, nose-piece, and turrets are made of metal with a brushed finish.
