The student's edition SoundTree Middle School Keyboard Lab Curriculum from Korg features resources for group piano instructional courses, specifically materials which allow you to incorporate technology into your musical classroom. The curriculum includes the Alfreds Basic Piano Library Lesson Book Complete Level 1, the Alfreds Basic Piano Library Lesson Book Complete Levels 2-3, the Alfreds Basic Piano Library Top Hits Solo Book Complete Level 1, the Alfreds Basic Piano Library Top Hits Solo Book Complete Levels 2 and 3, the GM Disk for Lesson Book Complete Level 1, the A night at the Symphony, the A Night at the Opera, and the Reproducible Pages. The Reproducible Worksheet Book contains Theory and Ear Training worksheets to correlate with each unit of Alfreds Basic Piano Library Lesson Book Complete, Levels 1-3.
Additionally, 60 included lesson plans teach incorporating a GEC keyboard lab into the general music classroom setting. The lesson plans cover areas such as music fundamentals, composition, ear training, improvisation, listening skills, notation, and performance. These subjects are not presented in a specific order, providing the teacher flexibility based on the classroom set-up. Each individual lesson addresses the National Standards for Music Education and is organized in the following order: keyboard skills required, MENC national standards, objectives, materials, procedure, extensions, reproducible student handouts. Three classroom resources are included to complete the package: Alfreds Essentials of Music Theory Complete, Accent on Composers, and Music Fun 101.
