The 12.5" ThinkPad Yoga 12 Multi-Touch Ultrabook from Lenovo is a system whose screen can rotate 360° to vary between laptop, tent, stand, and tablet mode. That means you can select a specific mode based on what you need to do and combine that mode with the keyboard and/or the 10-point multi-touch control to help maximize your productivity.
Constructed from magnesium alloy and polyphenylene sulfide, the Yoga 12 is powered by a 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7-5600U Dual-Core processor which allows you to run multiple applications simultaneously and features a burst speed of up to 3.2 GHz. The onboard 8GB of 1600 MHz PC3-12800 DDR3L RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently-used files and programs. The 12.5" anti-glare multi-touch IPS display supports 10-finger gestures and features a Full HD 1920 x 1080 native resolution, LED-backlighting, 400 cd/m2 brightness, and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 delivers a sharp, clear picture and you'll also be able to output video to an external display using the system's Mini HDMI port, which supports dual independent displays with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz.
For long term storage of your files, the Yoga 12 has a 256GB Opal 2.0 SATA III SSD. While the SSD may not have the larger capacity of a traditional hard drive, it contains no moving parts and is able to operate at faster data transfer speeds. Additionally, because it has no moving parts, it is more resistant to damage from bumps and drops and do not have any read or write heads to wear down the drive media when contact occurs during read and write operations.
If you want to add external peripherals, the Yoga 12 offers 2 x USB 3.0 ports, once of which doubles as an always-on charging port. Network connectivity is achieved using 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 technology will also allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals. Other integrated features include a 4-in-1 SD & MMC media card reader, a 720p webcam, dual array microphones, and 2 x 1.5W stereo speakers that support HD audio and Dolby Home Theater v4.
The Yoga 12 operates using an included 45W AC adapter and an 8-cell/47Wh lithium-polymer battery that will last for up to 8 hours before recharging is required. Also included is a Wacom Digitizer pen and the installed operating system is Windows 8.1 Pro (64-bit).
