The AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/3.5G ED VR is a DX-format lens offering a 127.5mm equivalent focal length. A maximum 1:1, life-size reproduction ratio combines with a minimum focusing distance of 11.25" for recording detailed close-ups of small objects, as well as general subjects with its mid-telephoto perspective. Vibration Reduction II image stabilization compensates for three stops of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting and a Silent Wave Motor contributes to fast, smooth, and quiet focusing performance. The optical design incorporates one extra-low dispersion element to minimize chromatic aberrations and a Super Integrated Coating reduces flare and ghosting.
Complementing the macro lens is the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8 lens, which provides a slightly-longer-than-normal 52.5mm equivalent focal length. This perspective, coupled with the bright f/1.8 maximum aperture, is ideal for isolating subjects using selective focusing techniques, and the Silent Wave Motor offers precise AF performance along with full-time manual focus override for fine-tuning your focus position. One aspherical element is used to control aberrations and distortions, and a Super Integrated Coating is featured again to minimize ghosting and lens flare.
