The PSC Pelican LiFE Battery is a 12.8 VDC Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFEPO4) battery with a capacity of 256 Watts that can handle a draw or charging rate of 25 Amps. The battery is constructed using Lithium Iron Phosphate technology, and features electronic cell balancing and protection against over charging/discharging. In the event of a short circuit to the output, the electronic circuits disconnect the output from the battery, requiring you to manually press the reset button, or charge the battery to reset. A user replaceable internal 40 Amp Slow Blow automotive fuse acts as a final safety mechanism, however PSC recommends calling tech support if you need to replace the internal fuse.
The battery cells, and electronics are built into a Pelican 1150 case, which provides a rugged and water-resistant housing. The entire unit, battery, electronics and case weighs only 7.25 pounds. Power is available through a SpeakOn 2 pole connector mounted to the side of the case, which is used to supply power as well as for charging from available chargers. This battery is compatible with available PSC PowerMax Ultra and Power Star power distribution systems, and can be charged by most 12 volt lead acid battery charging systems.
