The TVS-863-4G 8-Bay Golden Cloud Turbo vNAS from QNAP is a powerful, reliable, secure, and scalable NAS solution designed for mission-critical and intensive business applications and to meet growing storage needs. The TVS-863-4G runs the QTS operating system and is able to function as a NAS for data backup, file synchronization, remote access, and home entertainment. It is also well suited for the creation and use of a personal cloud so you can access your data from anywhere. The TVS-863-4G is also able to perform on-the-fly and offline video transcoding, including Full HD 1920x1080 content and playback of 1080p content with 7.1 channel surround sound via HDMI output.
The TVS-863-4G is powered by a 2.4 GHz AMD Quad-Core x86 processor, which will allow you to run multiple functions simultaneously. The built-in 4GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L RAM will allow quick access to frequently-used files and programs, and network connectivity is achieved via the 2 x Gigabit Ethernet ports, which are expandable to 4 x GbE ports or 2 x GbE and 2 x 10GbE ports. A variety of RAID modes are also supported, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 5/6/10 + hot spare, which offer data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both.
This 8-bay enclosure has the ability to natively house both 3.5" or 2.5" SATA III hard drives or SSD drives. To support both drive formats, screws are included to accommodate both drive sizes. Read and write speed of the TVS-863-4G can reach up to 448 MB/s with a 4 x GbE configuration and up to 1,432 MB/s with a 10GbE configuration. Data transfer speeds with AES 256-bit full NAS volume encryption can also reach up to 691 MB/s. Using the 5 x external USB 3.0 ports, this QNAP can be connected to other QNAP devices as well as other external drives.
The TVS-863-4G operates using a 250W power supply and 110-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz and 5A. It is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, and UNIX. Included are 2 x Ethernet cables, 1 x 10GbE network cable, a power cord, 32 x 3.5" HDD flat head screws, 24 x 2.5" HDD flat head screws, and a hard disk tray key.
