The user manual for the RDL SAS-8C 8-Station Audio Controller SAS-8C provides

The SAS-8C 8-Station Audio Controller from RDL is a device that allows you to control (8) SourceFlex listening stations. Each listening station connects to this unit via a 6-conductor wire. A maximum listening level can also be set for each station.
The unit's power conductor is protected by an auto-resetting fuse. The unit is configured by daisy chaining the SAS-82 or SAS-8i units to the controller. By using this unit in large SourceFlex systems, you can also lower your cost per station.
