The R-122 Live from Royer Labs is a version of their popular R-122 ribbon microphone that has been specially enhanced for live performance applications. The 4-micron aluminum ribbon has a figure 8 polar pattern to provide equal sensitivity on both sides of the element. The ribbon has a smooth, natural response and a fully balanced head amplifier system with a specially-wound toroidal transformer and ultra-low noise FETs. This phantom powered circuitry provides extremely high output, low self-noise and distortion, as well as impedance matching. The ribbon is designed to be exceptionally durable, and it is not affected by heat or humidity, allowing you to take it between venues without worrying about damage.
