This package bundles the MDX-RX100III waterproof enclosure with Sony's RX100 III digital point-and-shoot camera. The housing's mechanical controls, including push-buttons, dials, and levers, provide access to all camera functions.
Built for durability, the MDX-RX100III is constructed from corrosion-resistant galvanized aluminum. It's equipped with a built-in lens port featuring an M67 threaded screw mount for optional conversion lenses or filters. Additionally, it's configured with dual fiber-optic cable ports for connecting optional external strobes. The housing also has one connector on the side and one on the top for optional SA8 Fixed Ball Base mounts, which enable the addition of SA8 lighting arms and arm components. Replaceable sacrificial zinc anodes on the front and rear of the housing will corrode due to electrolysis, in order to prevent the corrosion of sensitive parts of the housing itself.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III Digital Camera features a 20.1MP, 1.0", Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor and BIONZ X processor for high-resolution stills, full HD 1080p video, low-light sensitivity to ISO 12800, and continuous shooting at up to 10 fps. A Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* zoom lens provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 24-70mm, as well as a fast f/1.8-2.8 aperture for low-light shots and shallow depth of field. The camera is also equipped with both a 3.0", 1229k-dot LCD monitor and a 0.39", 1440k-dot OLED electronic viewfinder. Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with NFC capability allows for instant image transfer to linked smart devices, which can also be used for remote camera control and monitoring.
