Enter a new world of information with the Developer Edition of the Sony SmartEyeglass Heads-Up Display Smart Glasses. These glasses make use of holographic waveguide technology, which allows for 3mm thick, highly transparent AR lenses with high brightness. They project a green monochromatic overlay onto each lens, displaying various types of information in a heads-up display format. When connected to your smartphone, you can use your SmartEyeglass with specially-designed apps to navigate, view location-based tweets, control your smartphone with your voice, translate in real time, and more. The SmartEyeglass is connected to a controller with a touch sensor that lets you navigate through onscreen menus. It also contains a talk button, back button, speaker, microphone, and a micro-USB charging port, as well as indicators for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and charging. A clip on the back attaches it to clothing and a shutter button controls the glasses' 3MP camera. This Developer Edition model also lets you create your own apps: the SmartEyeglass SDK includes a smartphone emulator, sample code, guides, API references, and support information. You can take advantage of the glasses' camera, microphone, speaker, compass, gyroscope, and light sensor as well as the Wi-Fi connection and Bluetooth 3.0 connection to your Android smartphone. Apps can be created for everything from real-time stats at sporting events to hands-free assembly instructions for factory and assembly line workers.
