The user manual for the Sony XDS1000 Professional Media Station XDS-1000 provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Professional Video - Recorders & Duplication - P2 & XDCAM Players/Recorders.
The Sony XDS-1000 Professional Media Station with 1 TB internal hard disk drive (HDD) storage offers approximately 30 hours of recording with 50 Mbps clips. It provides up to up to 200 Mbps of bandwidth for file transfers and base band I/O operations. The unit also supports up to 50 GB optical disc (professional disc media) for backup.
Using HD422 50 Mbps recording, the XDS-1000 Professional Media Station supports 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720 resolutions, and uncompressed 8-channel 24-bit /48 kHz linear PCM audio. It also supports all XDCAM and XDCAM EX file formats, codecs and metadata and protocols such as VDCP, FTP and CIFS. The media station is compatible with HD and SD signals, and offers up/down and cross-conversion system for operational flexibility
Offering up to 4 clients for file transfer and 4 clients for network control, the XDS-1000 Professional Media Station ensures high-speed file transfers and multiple file access over the network. The unit allows you to access a newly created file while it is being recorded. In addition, it allows you to edit the file and transfer it to other servers.
You can copy the data from a Professional Disc media or SxS card to the internal memory without affecting REC/PLAY operation. Non-linear editors (NLEs) can directly access the internal storage content through the GigE network. In live recording, the user can access the updated file and transfer it to other servers (Stream Chase). With RAID-4 system, the XDS-1000 Professional Media Station offers uninterrupted operation even when the HDD fails.
The front panel buttons allow you to individually control the Professional Disc drive, SxS memory card slots and internal storage. In case of network problems, you can play out a video program from the Professional Disc media directly, via front panel operation in local mode. A Jog/Shuttle dial ensures smooth motion picture. Equipped with a traditional VTR-like user interface, the XDS-1000 Professional Media Station is easy to use, configure and integrate into the overall workflow.
The XDCAM Professional Media Station offers fast start-up and safe shut-down. You can remotely control the unit via Ethernet using the XDCAM Browser. The media station has low power consumption (170 W) and a silent operation. It is ideal for use in OB vans, sports/live production office and studios.
