The SC:BMCC CAGE LE from Swedish Chameleon is a lightweight cage for the Blackmagic Cinema Camera or Production Camera 4K suitable for both handheld and tripod mounted work. It is identical to the SC:BMCC Cage but doesn't include the side rod clamp or 15mm rod. The cage covers only the front portion of the camera, leaving all ports and controls accessible. It consists of a bottom mounting plate, top cheese plate, and two side arms. The top plate features multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes for attaching accessories, as well as three integrated cold shoe mounts. For further accessory support, the side arms are provide additional 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 accessory threads, and can even function as NATO-style rails.
A top handle assembly comes included, which features a single 15mm with rubberized grip that goes over it. The handle slides and clamps into a long shoe mount running the width of the top plate. This allows you to adjust the position the top handle for optimal balance when shooting handheld or carrying the grip. With the grip attached, some of the rod remains exposed, leaving room for rod-mounted accessories. The grip can also be removed entirely, letting you use the entire length of the rod for mounting multiple accessories.
The bottom plate has 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threads for mounting the cage onto a tripod or other support device. The plate also has ventilation channels to prevent the camera from overheating, cable channels for professional rigging, and anti-skid rubber pads to prevent the cage from sliding when set down.
