The My Book Duo 4TB (2 x 2TB) Two-Bay USB 3.0 RAID Array from WD comes with two WD Red hard drives that are pre-configured in RAID 0 to deliver data transfer rates of up to 290 MB/s. Its two drives support 4TB of storage in a 2 x 2TB configuration and are formatted as NTFS for Windows 8 or higher, as well as Windows 7 and Vista. The drives can also be reformatted for use with Mac OS X, configured in RAID 1 for data redundancy, or in JBOD to use each drive individually. WD has outfitted this array with two USB 3.0 ports which have data transfer speeds up to 5 Gb/s, while also being backwards compatible with USB 2.0 at speeds up to 480 Mb/s. For those who are concerned about drive security, this RAID array is equipped with AES 256-bit encryption.
The My Book Duo is well suited for tasks such as high-capacity external storage and backup. It operates using 100-240 VAC at 47-63 Hz and includes WD SmartWare, WD Drive Utilities, and WD Security software, as well as a USB cable, and an AC adapter. It is protected by a limited 2-year warranty.
