The Zacuto Indie Recoil is a universal shoulder mount rig for all DSLR cameras and any other flat bottom video cameras. It includes the VCT Universal Baseplate, QR Riser, Zgrip Zwivel, Zacuto Halfcage Rail, and Recoil Handle for a sturdy top and side grip. This rig is ideal for those who already own the Zacuto EVF. It is designed to provide optimal balance whether shoulder mounted or on a tripod. When lenses and cameras are similar in weight, the balance point is where the lens meets the camera body. In this recoil rig, the balance point needs to be directly over your shoulder. This requires focus, monitoring, and camera controls to be relocated forward, creating a lighter and shorter rig.
The VCT Universal Baseplate has a built-in, curved shoulder pad, a v-wedge tripod connector, 6.5" (16.5 cm) iris rods, and rows of 1/4"-20 threads along the sides for accessories. The recessed rod mount offers maximum accessory space under your camera lens.
The QR Riser raises your camera to a height compatible with matte boxes and also provides a quick-release for your camera. It includes a Gorilla Plate V2 and Gorilla Tripod Dock.
The Zgrip Zwivel is a fully articulating handgrip that attaches to a single 15mm rod with a Zwivel mount that can be set at multiple different angles for comfort and ease of use.
The Halfcage Rail is a solid, adjustable, universal cage structure for the side and top of your camera rig. It comes with a 3" Z-rail for mounting on the side of the VCT Universal Baseplate. The Halfcage Rail expands to fit over your camera and accessories and includes a Z-Rail, 1/4"-20 screw, and 15mm rod accessory attachment ports.
The Recoil Handle is a solid top grip that attaches to the Halfcage Rail with a quick release ratcheting lever. It can accept two cold-shoe accessories and has a quick release 15mm rod port for an Axis Mini or articulating arm.
