The indie holds your phone safely and securely, and is precision-made from a solid block of aerospace-grade aluminum. Your phone fits into a compartment behind a sliding door, which closes magnetically. And don't worry, the indie affords unhindered functionality of your phone -- you can press the home button, access the headphone/microphone jack, top mic, dock connector, bottom microphone and speaker, and the front and rear cameras.
Due to the "on center" design, you can simply point your arm and your lens will follow. This is great for handheld news shots, quick action or self-recording for video blogs. In fact, there are a slew of possibilities for using the indie -- it makes a great tool for applications like electronic news gathering, blogging, iPhoneography, home movie shoots, creating an iPhone tripod mount, public relations, electronic press kits, lunar exploration, and even timelapse photography.
