The indie iPhone 4/4S Camera Housing With Handle, - Magnetic Door Closure from Aeronautic Pictures is a cost-effective way to utilize your iPhone 4 or 4S for filmmaking and photography purposes.
The indie holds your phone safely and securely, and is precision-made from a solid block of aerospace-grade aluminum. Your phone fits into a compartment behind a sliding door, which closes magnetically. And don't worry, the indie affords unhindered functionality of your phone -- you can press the home button, access the headphone/microphone jack, top mic, dock connector, bottom microphone and speaker, and the front and rear cameras.
Due to the "on center" design, you can simply point your arm and your lens will follow. This is great for handheld news shots, quick action or self-recording for video blogs. In fact, there are a slew of possibilities for using the indie -- it makes a great tool for applications like electronic news gathering, blogging, iPhoneography, home movie shoots, creating an iPhone tripod mount, public relations, electronic press kits, lunar exploration, and even timelapse photography.
Additional benefits of using the indie include its options for attaching professional accessories. It has a 37mm accessory lens mount as well as channels for 15mm rails that allow you to install matte boxes (and use graduated filters), shoulder mounts, custom handle rigs, ring lights and more. A cold shoe mount is located above the lens. Plus, there are eight 1/4"-20 threads over the top, down the left side and across the bottom.
Along with your indie, you also get a matching black handle made of solid aerospace-grade aluminum. It has a 1/4"-20 thread at the bottom, so you could even use it as a height extender for your tripod, jib or crane.
