User manual for the Allen Avionics DD740 Digital Audio Delay DELAY BOX DD740
The user manual for the Allen Avionics DD740 Digital Audio Delay DELAY BOX DD740 provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Professional Video - Signal Processing & Distribution - Video & Audio Delays.
The DD740 Digital Audio Delay Correction Master Delay Box from Allen Avionics is designed to restore lip-syncing to the audio output from a digital satellite receiver or DVD player. Digital display processing takes time and can produce an audio delay in relation to the picture display. This is particularly noticeable in speech, where the voice comes first and the lips move after. This occurs during satellite broadcasting featuring remastered movies with digital surround sound. This DD740 allows control over audio/video synchronization by delaying audio to match the video delay. By inserting the DD740 between the source and the processor, advanced digital synchronization can be achieved by increments as fine as 0.33ms, which results in a precise sound and picture synchronization.
The DD740 has 4 input channels and 2 output channels. The Delay Box allows storage of up to 36 preset delay settings, 9 per each input channel. All operations can be performed either using the standalone device or with the remote control provided with the device. The Delay Box works with audio outputs from each of the sources connected to the digital audio inputs (A, B, C, or D). In order to connect an analog stereo audio source, you will need an analog-to-digital audio converter (not included).
