User manual for the Aphex 120B 1x4 Distribution Amplifier 120B
The user manual for the Aphex 120B 1x4 Distribution Amplifier 120B provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Pro Audio - Installation Sound - Distribution Amplifiers.
The Aphex 120B 1x4 Distribution Amplifier is designed for multi-zone installed sound applications such as for restaurants, bars, or multiple rooms in a home. The unit features a single high impedance input and four electronically servo-balanced low impedance outputs. Built with transformerless circuits the amplifiers provide a flat frequency response without overshoot or ringing and can be used for distributing both audio and SMPTE time code.
Each output has its own volume controlled amplifier. The low impedance of the outputs allows for long wire runs and high capacitive loads without loss of stability or frequency response. Balancing the outputs with servos and grounding the unused pin allows each output to be used single-ended without changing the gain setting. For I/O the unit utilizes one 3-pin XLR female input, one 3-pin XLR male thru output for connecting to another device, and four 3-pin XLR male outputs for each amplifier channel.
The input circuit utilizes common-mode rejection to preserve headroom, and the high impedance allows for bridging the input signal with minimal loading. This allows you to drive multiple amplifiers simultaneously from the same source. The front panel of the chassis features the four volume controls and an LED indicator light to show signal presence and clipping. The amplifier can be rack mounted as one unit or in pairs using the available rack mount kit sold separately.
