The Q170M-C Motherboard from ASUS is designed to fit in cases that support a micro-ATX form factor. The 9.6 x 8.9" Q170M-C supports 6th Generation (Skylake) Intel Core i7, i5, i3, Pentium, and Celeron processors, the LGA 1151 socket, as well as the Intel Q170 chipset. This motherboard supports Windows 10 (64-bit), 8.1 (64-bit), and 7 (64 and 32-bit).
The micro-ATX form factor of the Q170M-C has 4 x DIMM slots that can support up to 64GB of non-ECC unbuffered DDR4 RAM, as well as dual channel memory architecture and Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) memory modules. The supported memory speeds are DDR4 2133 MHz memory modules. The Q170M-C has a total of 6 x SATA III 6 Gb/s ports, 1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slot (running at x16), 1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slot (max at x4 mode), 1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x1 slot, 1 x PCI slot, 10 x USB 3.0/2.0 ports (6 ports on the back panel, blue, 4 ports at mid-board), 4 x USB 2.0/1.1 ports (2 ports on the back panel, 2 at mid-board), and 2 x PS/2 ports. Using the Realtek ALC887 codec, it can support 7.1-channel HD audio, or 8-channel HD audio if the chassis has an HD audio module in the front panel.
The Q170M-C has integrated Intel HD graphics support with 1 x HDMI, 1 x DisplayPort, 1 x DVI-D port, and 1 x VGA port. Its HDMI port supports a max resolution of 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz and 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz, its DisplayPort supports a max resolution of 4096 x 2304 @ 60 Hz, and both its DVI-D and VGA port can support a max resolution of 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz. The integrated graphics can use up to 1,024MB of shared memory and also supports Intel InTru 3D, Intel Quick Sync Video, Intel Clear Video HD Technology, and Intel Insider. Additionally, support is built in for up to three simultaneous displays.
The Q170M-C has also been designed with LANGuard, Overvoltage protection, DRAM overcurrent protection, a stainless-steel backplate, ESD guards, UEFI BIOS, Fan Xpert 2+, AI Suite 3, and more. This motherboard is protected by a limited 3-year warranty and includes an I/O shield and 2 x SATA III 6 Gb/s cables.
