The built-in NOAA Weather Alert and 10 NOAA weather channels provide access to emergency warnings for storms and emergencies. The radios themselves feature voice-activated operation with 5 VOX sensitivity levels as well as an illuminated LCD display for nighttime use. They are powered by the included rechargeable AA batteries and have Battery Saver Circuitry that puts them into battery saver mode after 10 seconds with no transmissions.
