The Xpander Rackmount 8 Series II from Cubix is a 5RU rackmount expansion chassis, which can hold up to eight dual-slot graphics cards, that connects to 1 or 2 systems. It has two separate Main Interface Boards that have four PCIe Gen 2 x16 slots for each. These slots can support a graphics card that is sized for single- or dual-slots. Xpander Rackmount 8 provides hardware acceleration to your system and can support graphic cards such as NVIDIA Quadro, NVIDIA Tesla, as well as other types of I/O controllers. This enables greater parallel calculations separate from the server that enhances system reliability, performance, and flexibility.
Along with the chassis are two Host Interface Cards with 6.6' (2m) x16 cables that connect to the chassis. Each of the HICs occupies a PCIe Gen 2 or Gen 3 x16 slot in your system and interfaces with one of the two MIBs. Furthermore, this chassis is built with two independent 1500W power supplies and multiple exhaust fans to supply power and cooling to the cards. Included with the chassis are two HICs and two x16 cables.
