Featuring a depth rating of 200', the housing's dual fiber-optic cable ports enable the connection of optional external strobes for improved brightness and color accuracy underwater. This also diminishes the effects of backscatter and can eliminate shadowing effects that may be caused by the lens port.
Ergonomically-designed mechanical controls afford access to all essential camera functions. Constructed for durability, the housing has a shock-resistant polycarbonate body to protect your camera from water, sand, dust, frost, impact, and other damaging conditions. A built-in flat lens port with an included port cover accommodates and protects the camera's 24-70mm zoom lens (35mm equivalent). This 55mm thread port is compatible with a wide variety of optional accessory filters and lenses, including 67mm options when using the supplied EyeDaptor M55-F67 lens adapter.
On top of the housing, a cold-shoe mount enables you to connect an optional flash, video light, night dive torch, or focus light, using a standard cold-shoe connector mount. A supplied flash diffuser softens the light of the camera's built-in flash, while also increasing the angle of coverage and reducing backscatter, glare, and hard shadows. The housing also includes an anti-glare hood to shield the LCD screen from unwanted excess light, thereby improving your view of images. Additionally, an included moisture detector installed next to the housing latch dial alerts you in the unlikely event of a breach in the housing's waterproof seal.
