User manual for the Galaxy Audio DSPOT DS-CP25 Multi-Band Compressor Limiter DS-CP25
The user manual for the Galaxy Audio DSPOT DS-CP25 Multi-Band Compressor Limiter DS-CP25 provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Pro Audio - Recording - Dynamics Processors.
The Galaxy Audio DSPOT DS-CP25 Multi-Band Compressor Limiter is designed for professional installed and portable live sound reinforcement applications. The 1RU rackmountable digital signal processor features balanced XLR and 1/4" inputs and outputs, as well as an S/PDIF input. It can be operated in dual channel, stereo, or mono mode.
It features three stereo RMS compressors and three fourth order high-pass/low-pass filters on each channel. It also features 5 parametric or shelving filters with up to +15 dB gain peak limiting, delay, mute, phase, and automatic gain controls on each channel.
The RMS compressor uses the root mean square of the incoming signal as a control parameter for a more natural musical sounding compression. It features selectable hard/soft knee parameters and an adjustable input to output ratio that is accurate within 0.1 dBu.
The automatic gain control (AGC) is a dynamic expansion/compression process for maintaining the average amplitude of an output signal by expanding it when it is below the defined threshold and compressing it when it crosses above the threshold. The peak limiter is used to keep the output signal within a designated threshold to prevent the signal from clipping a power amplifier or speaker.
The unit can be controlled via the front-panel LCD display control interface, via MIDI using the rear panel MIDI in and out connectors, via RS485 serial control, or via USB connection to an external PC. Control software is available via an included CD or via download from the manufacturer's website. The unit can store and recall up to 20 presets for different applications.
