User manual for the Gefen HD Video Wall Controller EXT-HD-VWC-144
The user manual for the Gefen HD Video Wall Controller EXT-HD-VWC-144 provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product A/V Presentation - Signal Processing & Distribution - Multi Viewer Processors.
The HD Video Wall Controller from Gefen takes a single HDMI source at up to 1080p resolution and splits it into four quadrants, thus providing a simple way for you to create a 2 x 2 video wall without investing in special video wall-capable displays. There are four HDMI outputs, with each output assigned to one of the four displays in the group. Because the resolution of the incoming signal is effectively quartered, the HD Video Wall Controller can also scale each of the outputs back up to 1080p so that the displays will receive a signal in their native resolution. HDCP is supported, meaning you can even pass copy-protected sources such as Blu-ray DVDs. Video walls are suitable for a host of applications that require an outsized display where using a projector isn't an option, including entertainment, digital signage, retail outlets, clubs, trade shows, control centers, building lobbies, and more.
Both local and remote control is possible with the HD Video Wall Controller. Front panel buttons and an on screen display allow settings to be changed locally at the device. Where line-of-sight communication is possible, there is an IR remote included. An IR extender port means you can even extend the IR signal over wire for non-line-of-sight scenarios by employing an IR extender kit sold separately. For remote and offsite management there is RS-232 and an Ethernet port. The device features a built-in Web server with Telnet and UDP support for control across and IP network or even the Internet.
