User manual for the Genelec 1237A Tri-Amplified SAM Monitor System 1237APM
The user manual for the Genelec 1237A Tri-Amplified SAM Monitor System 1237APM provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Pro Audio - Recording - Studio Monitors.
The Genelec 1237A Tri-Amplified SAM Monitor System comes from the company's 35+ years of designing and building professional three-way monitors for recording studios, post-production houses, digital mastering facilities, radio, and TV broadcasting companies. The monitor uses a 500-watt powered 12" low frequency woofer, a 250-watt powered mid-frequency woofer that is handmade in Finland, and a 200-watt powered 1" metal dome high frequency tweeter in a proprietary large Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) to deliver a frequency response of 32 to 22,000 Hz (-6 dB). The waveguide helps maintain balanced on- and off-axis imaging for even the most acoustically challenging environments.
Power is supplied by the 3U removable and rackmountable RAM-L amplifier module that uses a Class D amplifier design for the low and mid frequencies combined with a Class AB design for the treble. The amplifier module supports rapid system configuration as well the automatic room response calibration for fast and accurate monitor installations. The monitor is also equipped with the company's Genelec Loudspeaker Manager Control Network Technologies for integrating multiple monitors together to build stereo and surround systems.
For I/O the monitor features both an analog XLR input with a 10 kΩ impedance as well as an AES/EBU XLR digital input. It also includes an AES/EBU XLR digital Thru/Output for connecting to additional monitors using the Genelec Loudspeaker Manager Control Network technology (GLM) with four low frequency notch filters, two high frequency notch filters, two low frequency shelving filters, and two high frequency shelving filters. The monitor can be positioned either vertically or horizontally on its side by rotating the mid/high unit 90°.
