Photomatix Pro 5.0 from HDRsoft is an application that is designed to produce High Dynamic Range (HDR) imagery from bracketed exposures of high-contrast scenes. After taking a series of exposures of one scene that are each specifically adjusted for highlights, mid-tones, and shadows, but are otherwise identically positioned, Photomatix Pro can combine those individual images into one composite that reveals details throughout the photograph's entire tonal range. The HDR effect can be fine-tuned with regard to strength of contrast and detail, color saturation, dynamic range, contrast in details, lighting adjustments and effects, contrast in highlights, white point, black point, gamma, or color temperature. Additionally, built-in presets allow for a quick selection of output effects and custom presets can be saved for future use. A time-saving batch processing feature provides the ability to automatically generate multiple HDR images, and an included export plug-in provides integration with Photoshop Lightroom version 1.3 for an even more efficient workflow.
