Using the ERGO-FIT shoulder harness system, the mercury / ash / yellow Explorer 55 Internal Frame Pack from High Sierra adjusts to fit your exact torso length. Dual contoured aluminum frame bars maintain rigidity and provide comfort over long treks. This system also features a molded foam back panel with AIRFLOW channels that promote air circulation to help keep your back dry from perspiration as you hike. An adjustable hip belt transfers some of the load to your waist so you are not carrying it all with your shoulders.
The top load design has a spindrift collar that lets you overstuff the bag, and keeps debris from finding its way in when the lid is open. A dedicated sleeping bag compartment with external access is located on the bottom to balance your load for comfortable travel, and has a removable internal divider. The pack is hydration bladder compatible, with a pass-through for the drinking tube.
A front compression panel provides a place to stash snowshoes, avalanche shovel, or other bulky gear without taking up space inside or putting a dirty item in with the rest of your kit. The front also has tool loops and daisy chains to transport ice axes or trekking poles. Water bottle holsters provide a place for additional hydration or a place to stuff a rain shell. Compression straps condense the load and keep the pack tight to your back so it won't sway on the trail. A removable rain cover rounds out the features on the exterior of the pack, and keeps your gear dry in the event of a sudden shower.
