Add Thunderbolt 2 speed and storage to your Windows and Mac computer using the RocketStor 6328LS 8-Bay JBOD Solution with Thunderbolt 2 Adapter from HighPoint. This is a manufacturer's kit that includes an 8-Bay Tower Enclosure that has dual Mini-SAS ports as well as a Mini-SAS to Thunderbolt 2 adapter so it may be used with Thunderbolt-compatible computers. However, please be aware that this adapter does not include a hardware RAID controller.
This array enclosure comes with 8 SATA III 3.5" drive bays and connects to the included Thunderbolt 2 RocketStor adapter via two Mini-SAS cables. Out of the box, the drives work in JBOD mode where each drive is handled independently with its own drive letter. These drives can be software reconfigured in different RAID options that offer redundancy, speed, or a combination of both. RAID software is not included.
This RocketStor Adapter features two Thunderbolt 2 ports that each provide 20 Gb/s of bandwidth and are also backwards compatible with 10 Gb/s Thunderbolt technology. Thunderbolt technology allows you to daisy-chain up to six devices together such as additional Thunderbolt storage, external monitors, and more. For Mac users, there is native support for Apple's Time Machine backup software. The RocketStor 6328LS operates at 90-264V and includes a 3.3' / 1m Thunderbolt cable, two Mini-SAS cables, and a limited 1-year warranty.
