This Ikelite Mirrorless Port Adapter allows for the attachment of one of their Modular 8" domes to any of their housings for compact DSLR or mirrorless cameras. It slides right over the port base, sitting in between the base and the dome. No tools are needed to remove an existing port and attach the adapter.
The accessory's very slim profile is crucial, as the dome needs to be very close to the front of the housing to provide the best images possible with extremely wide-angle lenses. Zooming is not possible with this adapter in place, so lenses must be used at a fixed focal length. See below for the compatibility list.
The optional 8" dome is specially designed for underwater photography and is injection-molded out of optical-grade acrylic. It corrects for the size distortion that occurs underwater, counteracting the decrease in field of view to give you a wide angle of coverage. Additionally, the large surface area of the dome makes it easier to capture over-under shots (half-in, half-out of the water).
