If you are looking for a compact, ergonomic, and durable thermal imager that is ideally suited for handheld, weapon-mounted, or helmet-mounted operation, consider the IR Patrol M300-TK 1-8x Thermal Monocular Kit from IRDefense. The monocular features a BAE Systems MicroIR uncooled Vanadium Oxide microbolometer with spectral a range of 8-12µm and a pixel pitch of 12µm. It allows users to see hot and warm objects in complete darkness without the need for external illumination. You will detect and see wild animals, livestock, running engines, and other heat sources during the day or night. The shock-resistant 19mm, f/1.1 system features a germanium lens. The lens is anti-reflection coated for improved transmission of infrared light and thermally stabilized for improved resolution.
To add versatility to the device, the built-in electronics offer a digital zoom of up to 8x. You can view images and aim at targets using the built-in 640x480 OLED display or use a video output port to connect to an external screen or recording device with a choice of 60 or 30 Hz frame refresh rates. Its internal memory also allows you to take up to 75 images. To provide improved visibility, the sight comes with a number of digital imaging features such as a fully adjustable digital reticle, Enhanced Target recognition, multiple polarity modes, and E-Zoom.
The housing is made of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy that provides shock-resistant and weather-resistant performance. It also features an ergonomic and lightweight design with knurled adjustment rings and a shrouded thumb stick controller. You can use this device as a handheld monocular or mount it to your weapon or helmet via the included adapter kits. For other accessories such as lasers, the monocular is outfitted with a mini Picatinny rail.
