The C447 Bottomless Holster Case from Kinesis is a solution for fast-paced shooting conditions where the convenience and surface protection provided by a holster case is wanted, but time does not permit having to zip and unzip a bag in order to gain access to it. Since having to remove a lens from a camera before it can fit within a bag can also end up becoming an obstacle to getting the shot, the front of this Kinesis holster opens up to allow camera and lens combinations longer than the case itself to stick out, but not fall through. As a result, nearly any SLR-type camera and a mounted lens with a filter diameter up to 82mm such as a 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8, 80-400, or 400 f/5.6 can be accommodated along with a hood up to 4.75" (12.07cm) wide in the shooting position.
To maximize the number of camera and lens combinations that are compatible with this case, the sides are unpadded. This allows the sides of the case to stretch or contract around a camera. The lack of a rear door to open or close and a recessed side that exposes the grip portion of a camera within this holster help to ensure that the desired shot isn't missed. In instances between shots where quickly withdrawing the camera is less of a priority than making sure that it sits securely within the case, an over-the-top nylon strap with a quick-release buckle can be used to block a camera from accidentally falling out. Four touch-tab dividers are included to provide elevation from the front of the case if necessary in order to minimize any need to dig inside to obtain a good grip on a camera. This holster is compatible only with a Kinesis belt and includes loops intended for attaching a Y302 Strap Kit which can be used to prevent the top of the case from pulling away from an attached belt.
