Combining their tungsten carbide sharpener with their retractable diamond rod, lansky presents the Diamond and Carbide Tactical Sharpening Rod for knife blades. The sharpener hones your knife edges quickly and restores severely damaged or dull blades. Then, the diamond rod with its 600 grit refines the edge, putting the finishing touches on the job. For regular maintenance, the diamond rod alone is sufficient.
Sharpening angles are pre-set at 22.5° to achieve a 45° inclusive angle. Drawing the knife through the slot 3-4 times will sharpen the blade, and maintaining a consistent angle will yield the best results. To extend the diamond rod, simply twist the cylinder at the end of the tactical rod and allow the diamond rod to slide out. Twist the cylinder in the opposite direction to tighten it again.
