Originally developed for the Swedish Department of Defense, the Swedish FireSteel 2.0 from Light My Fire is a quick and reliable way to achieve a spark for cooking or lighting a campfire in almost any conditions. Simply hold the stainless steel striker at a 30° angle, and strike it along the magnesium firesteel to create a shower of 5,400°F sparks that will ignite a camp stove or kindling. Each firesteel will produce up to 12,000 strikes. The bright spark also serves as an SOS signal, and the firesteel has an emergency whistle built into its handle.
