The Sputnik Multi-Pattern Large-Diaphragm Vacuum Tube Condenser Microphone from M-Audio features a solid brass body and a tuned solid brass backplate with a dual-layer steel grille for protecting the capsule from damage. The 1.0" Mylar capsule uses evaporated gold and an SPL handling of up to 132 dB. The microphone contains a 6205M military-grade vacuum tube wired as a triode. It provides cardioid, omnidirectional and figure 8 polar patterns for optimum flexibility. There is a 10 dB pad and a low cut filter at 80 Hz, both switchable. The microphone includes a dedicated power supply, a shockmount, a 7-pin microphone cable, a soft bag, and a flight case.
