The 214-RLED Microscope from National Optical is a four-objective microscope with a 30° inclined monocular, an integrated camera and Wi-Fi. The four objectives are 4x, 10x, 40xR, and 100xR. They are located on a rotating turret with a ball bearing mount. The 40x and 100xR objectives are retractable and the 100xR objective ought to be used with an immersion oil to achieve maximum resolution. All of these microscope objectives feature achromatic lenses which reduce color distortions introduced by imperfections in optical elements. Reducing these color distortions allows you to see sharper images with better color fidelity. The parfocalled and parcentered design allows for switching objectives without having to realign your sample and without losing focus. Both the turret and the included objectives adhere to the DIN microscope objective standard. This means that you can use any DIN objective with this microscope without worrying about it ever becoming obsolete. The coaxial focusing system performs fine and coarse adjustments.
In order to instantly acquire and share images of your slides, the microscope features an integrated camera and supports Wi-Fi. The camera has a resolution of 1.3MP and can be accessed through your computer's browser or using Apple or Android devices via a free MotiConnect App.
To see details of your specimens more easily, the microscope has an LED illumination system with adjustable brightness. The light intensity it delivers is equivalent to that of a 20W incandescent bulb. The white light from the bottom LED emitter is focused on the sample with a 1.25 NA Abbe condenser. The iris diaphragm located underneath the stage allows you to tune the contrast of your images while using different magnifying powers.
The microscope also features a 5.3 x 5.3" mechanical stage with adjustable height. It has a movable slide holder and allows you to move your specimen slides in X-Y plane. The frame of the microscope is made of cast metal with gray enamel finish.
Included with the microscope are a calibration slide, three rechargeable AA NiMH batteries, a wall adapter, a USB adapted, a USB cable, a dustcover, and two Allen wrenches for rack stop and eyepiece socket tension adjustment.
