The 416TBL-15 1x/3x Stereo Microscope from National Optical is a dual magnification stereoscopic microscope fit for laboratories, high school and university students. The stereo (two) eyepiece configuration is preferred by most researchers and students because of the superior depth of field and comfort compared to monocular microscopes. This model of the 416 microscope has a paired 15x eyepiece delivering 15x and 45x magnification. The stage can be illuminated from above and/or below using a 5W fluorescent light activated by separate base-mounted On/Off switches. A fluorescent light source will not produce as much heat as a tungsten source and is also favored by many researchers for its relatively cool color temperature and long life.
