The SLX 800i Focus Light Combo with Hot / Cold Shoe Adapter from Nocturnal Lights consists of an SLX 800i Focus Light with Ball Joint Adapter, a ball joint clamp adapter and a hot / cold shoe adapter. The assembly fits on all underwater housings with a sliding hot/cold shoe adapter.
The SLX 800i Focus Light has three 3 W (9 W total) LED bulbs that provide 800 lumens of light output. The light takes 6 alkaline AA batteries (not included), which provide 8 hr of burn time, with a maximum output for a full 2 hr. The LED bulbs run at a cool temperature, so the light can be used both above and below the surface. When positioned above your lens port, the SLX 800i provides enough light and contrast to allow your camera to focus better and faster without any hot spots. It also allows you to shoot clear and vibrant movies with still cameras that have movie mode.
The light comes standard with a removable lantern handle. The lantern handle has a 5/16" (0.8 cm) hole that can be used to attach the included Ball Joint Adapter, which allows you to mount the light on any 1.0" (2.5 cm) ball joint arm system with a ball joint clamp. Lucky for you, the ball joint clamp adapter is included, and conveniently attaches to the ball joint adapter, as well as to the hot/cold shoe ball joint adapter, also included. The shoe adapter lets you mount a 1.0" (2.5 cm) ball joint arm system onto a standard accessory shoe. Three 60° internal diffusers are installed on the light, and three 12° internal reflectors are included, along with three 90° adapters. The diffusers, reflectors and adapters adjust the angle of the light beam for different effects.
The aluminum housing, double O-ring seal and shockproof LEDs make the SLX 800i extremely durable, even under the most extreme conditions. You never have to worry about the light turning on accidentally in your dive bag and wasting your battery, because the switch lock prevents this from happening.
