The Mercury Elite Pro Dual 4TB (2 x 2TB) Two-Bay Thunderbolt RAID Array from OWC / Other World Computing is a multi-interface storage solution that houses two 2TB 3.5" hard drives. For maximum performance, the two drives are configured in RAID 0 by default but can be easily reconfigured in RAID 1, span, or JBOD/independent modes via the RAID selector switch on the back. The hard drives each sport 64MB of cache memory and spin at 7,200 rpm. Furthermore, USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt ports provide fast access to the data stored on the drives.
This storage solution comes in a durable, heat-dissipating, and brushed-aluminum enclosure along with a cooling fan. A Thunderbolt chipset offers the full potential of this rugged external drive's dual 3.5" hard drives. The system comes with variety of backup software and utilities that include Prosoft Engineering Data Backup, NovaStor NovaBACKUP, and Intech SpeedTools utilities. In addition to this, it includes Drive Guide Software that formats drives for either OS X or Windows on demand.
