User manual for the OWC / Other World Computing ThunderBay 4 Mini 2TB OWCTB4MJB02T7
The user manual for the OWC / Other World Computing ThunderBay 4 Mini 2TB OWCTB4MJB02T7 provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Computers & Solutions - Drives & Storage - Hard Drive Arrays.
The ThunderBay 4 Mini 2TB (4 x 500GB) Four-Bay Thunderbolt 2 Array from OWC / Other World Computing comes with four hard drives and connects to Mac and Windows systems via Thunderbolt. This array features four 2.5" bays that can each house a 500GB hard drive to provide your system a total storage capacity of 2TB. The drives have a spin speed of 7200 rpm and 32MB of cache memory. When configured in RAID 0, these drives can provide a read speed up to 474 MB/s and a write speed up to 579 MB/s. Furthermore, they can be configured, by using your own RAID software, into different RAID options that offer redundancy, speed, or a combination of both. The ThunderBay 4 Mini allows you to handle demanding applications such as workflows involving 4K, 2K, uncompressed HD, and multi-stream SD videos. Moreover, the Mini's size and weight lets you easily transport your data between production environments.
The ThunderBay 4 Mini is equipped with two Thunderbolt 2 ports that transfer data at speeds of up to 20 Gb/s between your system and the array. It also allows you to daisy-chain up to six devices such as additional ThunderBays, 4K displays, and more. To cool the drives and the array, OWC uses a quiet 60mm fan along with a flow-thru vented design. Additionally, included with the array is a 3.3' (1m) Thunderbolt cable to help you get started.
