Designed with outdoor mobile workers in mind, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1CEECXBM is built to withstand shocks due to drops, inclement weather, and temperature changes in extreme environments. Encased in a magnesium alloy chassis surrounded with ABS and elastomer corner guards, the FZ-M1 has been tested and proven to withstand drops up to 5', shock, vibration, rain, dust, sand, high altitudes, freeze/thaw, high/low temperatures, temperature shock, humidity, and explosive atmospheres.
The 7" multi-touch screen will respond to 10-point gestures made with both bare fingers and gloved hands, and includes a stylus pen. The FZ-M1 is powered by a 1.60 GHz Intel Core i5‑4302Y dual-core processor, 8GB of installed RAM and a 128GB solid state drive. It is equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and a USB 3.0 port for attaching peripherals. Both a webcam and a 5MP back camera are integrated into the FZ-M1, as are a microphone, speakers, and a headphone/speaker jack.
This tablet features a number of security measures that will appeal to IT security departments, like a Kensington lock slot, TPM security, and Computrace theft protection. A bridge battery is integrated into the FZ-M1 to provide up to 30 seconds of power to the system memory while the main battery is replaced. This system runs Windows 8.1 Pro, 64-bit.
