It has water-resistant lid and a smooth nylon top with a strap and buckle closure. There is a removable cell phone or sunglass case on the shoulder strap, 2 pockets inside the water-resistant lid; one protects books, papers, laptop, etc and the other is a small pocket for keys, pens or other small objects. It also has a dedicated interior pocket for the laptop with an interior organizer with several accessory pockets.
