The SONY BRC-H900 1/2" HD 3CMOS Remote PTZ Camera from Vaddio is switchable between NTSC and PAL standards and simultaneously outputs both HD-SDI and SD video. HD/SD flexibility is well-suited for facilities planning to transition to HD, as you can shoot SD now and change over to HD by simply using a different output.
The camera produces HD video in 1080i or 720p using a 1/2" Exmor Full HD 3CMOS sensor and a 5.8-81.2mm / F1.9-F2.8 optical zoom lens. Sensitivity is 4-lux at F1.9 with gain at + 24 db, enabling low light shooting capability. An extensive image-control menu tree is accessible by remote and allows for fine-tuning and optimizing of images. The camera has a slot for a single expansion card, and optional cards are available with HD/SD-SDI output, analog SD output, HD Optical Multiplex capability, and IP control.
You can install the camera on a desk, a tripod via two 1/4" threads, or onto a ceiling using included hardware. An Image Flip feature will let you effectively mount the camera upside down. You can program up to 16 preset positions, especially useful for repetitive events and productions.
Remote operation is a major aspect of the camera. An IR remote control is included and can be set up to individually control three adjacent units. Additionally, an optional RM-BR300 SONY remote control, which functions by connection to the camera's RS-232C or RS-422 ports, can individually control up to 7 daisy-chained cameras over SONY's VISCA protocol. You can also install an optional IP controller card into the camera's expansion slot and remotely control up to 112 daisy-chained cameras. Remote operations consist of pan, tilt, zoom, focus, iris, shutter speed, and gain. Considering the HD quality, the BRC-H900 is suitable not only for conventional PTZ uses but also for e-learning applications.
