User manual for the Wein Sync-Link for Pro-Sync W990650
The user manual for the Wein Sync-Link for Pro-Sync W990650 provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Lighting & Studio - Radio & Optical Slaves - Slave Accessories.
A very interesting little piece of machinery, the Wein Sync-Link allows the use of the Wein Pro-Sync transmitter, or any other device employing the 2.5mm subminiphone connection, without taking up the TTL hot shoe connection on your camera. It attaches with touch fastener to the TTL flash, senses when it fires, and completes the circuit that fires your Pro-Sync transmitter (or other 2.5mm subminiphone device). You can turn off the signal sent by the Sync-Link right upon the device in case you don't want the room light or second camera to fire. The primary use of this device is to facilitate simultaneous on-camera TTL flash with secondary non-TTL remote flashes; a popular setup is to set remote flashes to illuminate the background 1/2 to 1 stop lower than the light created by the on-camera TTL flash. Together with a shutter speed slow enough to hopefully grab a smidgen of ambient room light, you will have extremely natural-looking lighting of indoor events.
