The WAAS system also provides greater position accuracy overall. The unit's built-in 3-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass shows your heading even while standing still, no matter how it is positioned. The receiver can also pick up FM stations to provide entertainment, which can be played back through the built-in speaker or through the headphone jack. You can use the unit for area calculation to provide an idea of the size of a parcel of land. A built-in UV sensor interprets level of UV light so you know how many rays you are being exposed to. This unit can be run off the included rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, or utilizing 3 AAA batteries.

I have some Atlas AA120's that work but the power LED does not glow. There is only 1.5VDC on the LED and if I give it 3V it lights nicely.
