The user manual for the Vello BG-S3 Battery Grip for Sony Alpha a7 II, A7S II BG-S3 provides

The Vello BG-S3 Battery Grip is designed specifically for the Sony Alpha a7 II, a7S II, and a7R II cameras. The grip holds one or two NP-FW50 batteries which effectively doubles your shooting time when both batteries are installed. The design of the grip provides a comfortable way to hold and shoot your camera in the vertical position.
The BG-S3 has a vertical-position shutter-release button, an alternate AF/MF/AEL button, three custom buttons, rear and main control dials, and an on/off switch. It is designed with an anti-slip rubber grip and firm curvature to further improve handling. The grip screws into the camera's tripod mount, and it has another tripod mount on its bottom for attaching to a camera support. A metal mount allows you to attach a camera strap to the BG-S3 for convenient carrying.
